Baked Pork chops
Ingredients
2 lbs. Pork chops (4 pieces)
1 tblsp garlic powder
2 tblsp onion powder
1/2 tsp allspice powder ( or 6 dried pimento seeds)
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cayenne pepper
4 tblsp soy sauce
1 tsp cornstarch
2 tblsp water

Method
Prep time 10 mins. Marinate 3 hrs.
Cook time: 2 1/2 hrs
Serves: 4.
- Rinse and pat dry pork chops.
- Combine all the dry ingredients except cornstarch in a bowl and then sprinkle over and rub into pork chops.
- Place pork chops in a ziploc bag. Add soy sauce to bag. Seal end. Place in refrigerator and marinate for at least 3 hours, preferably overnight.
- Spray 16 1/2 x 12″ Baking sheet with cooking spray.
- Place Pork chops on baking sheet in a single layer. Cover baking sheet with aluminium foil making sure to seal all the edges by folding down foil to under the rim of the baking sheet.
- Bake at 300 F for 2 1/2 hours.
- Pour off pan drippings and set aside to make gravy.
- Place meat under broiler for 1 min on each side to brown if desired.
Gravy
- Place pan drippings in pot on stove and bring to a boil. Combine cornstarch and water. Add mixture slowly to pan drippings. Stir for 2 mins or until thick.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
This slow cook, low temperature baking method makes the meat fork tender, juicy and literally falling off the bone.
Serve with rice and steam vegetables or garden salad of your choice.
